 Product Description

Will it compete with a $40 flashlight?  No... BUT, for around $5, this is the best darn little light I've seen!!!

Not expecting much, I took the Q5 out to the warehouse to see what it was made of.  First test, drop from 3 feet onto the concrete floor - still worked.  Drop from 5 feet - still worked.  Drop from 8 feet... I was nervous - still worked!  Feeling confident, and determined, I threw it against the concrete floor, over, and over, and over - for about 20 minutes, and guess what?  STILL WORKED!  It took some dents and dings, the focusing ring took a hit and got a little snug, but I couldn't kill it.  Still not satisfied, I submersed it overnight in the creek out back...  Yeah, a little water seeped in behind the lens, but the battery compartment stayed dry, and yeah - it still worked.  Destined destroy this stubborn little thing, I decided to see what the 4,600 lbs. of my Ford Explorer would do to it...  Today that same light is sitting on the end of my workbench as proof that this may just be the best compact LED flashlight that $5.00 will buy!

The UltraFire Q5 is machined from lightweight aluminum and uses a CREE LED that puts out somewhere around 100 lumens.  It operates on a single AA battery, features an adjustable beam, a convenient belt clip, has a high visibility tail mounted switch, and  3 modes: low/high/strobe.

There's even room in the battery compartment to stash a wrap or two of duct tape around the battery or several feet of Kevlar line!  The Q5 is without doubt one of our favorite EDC items!

PRO TIP:  NEVER trust your life to the cheap LED flashlights that use the cylindrical shaped, 3 AAA battery holders. These are notorious for being garbage, and I have never to this day had one that lasted more than a few weeks. Without fail, every one would be dead when I reached in my glove box to use it. I strongly recommend only flashlights that use AA and D batteries in a end-to-end arrangement. Avoid odd-ball and foreign size rechargeable units you see on eBay, and lights that use C cell or CR123 batteries. During an emergency, you want a light you can find batteries for, and AA and D are the two most popular sizes on the market. If your proprietary rechargeable battery fails during an emergency, your light becomes a paperweight, and while there are many fine lights that use CR123 batteries, they are expensive, have a short life span, and they will not be as easy to find if the zombies strike...
